Leroy E. Weakley

Leroy Ellis Weakley, 71, of Greenville, died Thursday, December 24, 2009, at his home.

He was born October 18, 1938, in Madison County, to the late Delma E. Weakley and the late Mattie L. Aylor Weakley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Harlow; and a brother-in-law, William H. Hall.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rozelia Weakley of Greenville; two daughters, Sandra Bryant and her husband, Kenneth, of Greenville, and Pamela Allen and her husband, David, of Charlottesville; two sisters, Alice Marie Shifflett and her husband, Clyde, of Charlottesville, and Thelma Hall of Charlottesville; a brother-in-law, Wallace Harlow of Stanardsville; three grandchildren, Christopher Allen and his wife, Katia, of Charlottesville, Heather Farrar and her husband, Robert, of Waynesboro, and Caleb Allen and his loving companion, Casey Clark, of Greenville; and a number of nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Babe.

He retired from Phillips Building Supply and he worked previously at Barnes Lumber in Charlottesville for over 40 years.

Leroy loved gardening and working around the house. He was happiest when in the company of friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the rescue personnel and the special neighbors and friends who have meant so much over the years.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2009, at Teague Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at the chapel of Teague Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by the Reverend C.C. Kurtz and the Reverend David Kingrea. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.

Aunt Rozinni, my thoughts are with you and your family. Uncle Leroy was always mentioned fondly by one of his other brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws during visits back home.
