Lillian "Bee" Beatrice Wood

Lillian "Bee" Beatrice Wood, 85, of Charlottesville, died Wednesday night, January 13, 2010, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

Bee, as all knew her, was born March 5, 1924, in Nelson County, as daughter of the late Braddish E. Giles and Lillian Ponton Giles. Besides her parents, her husband, William Fredrick Wood; and two brothers, Braddish and Calvin Giles preceded her in death.

Bee was a member of the Church of the Nazarenes in Charlottesville.

She is survived by her two sons, William Fredrick Wood Jr. of Charlottesville and Braddish C. Wood of North Garden; four sisters, Laura G. Worley of Chester, Alice G. Johnson of Richmond, Frances G. Coffey of Chester, and Shelby G. Mayo of Charlottesville; three grandchildren, Chris, Matt and Josh; and one great-grandson, Sage.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday January 16, 2010, at the graveside at Oak Hill Cemetery, near Lovingston, with Pastor Bill Willis officiating.

The families suggest memorials take the form of contributions in Bee's memory to the Church of the Nazarenes building fund, at 1013 Elliott Avenue Charlottesville, VA 22902.

Bee's family wishes to thank the staff of the Laurels for her care and services as well as the Doctors and staff of Martha Jefferson Hospital and all her friends who were so attentive to her during her illness.

Friends may call anytime today at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel of Lovingston (434) 263-4097.
