Margaret Marshall Obituary

Published by Daily Progress from Jun. 14 to Jun. 17, 2010.
Margaret D. Marshall

On the morning of Sunday, June 13, 2010, Margaret Deanna Marshall, 69, passed peacefully after a prolonged illness. She waged the most courageous battle anyone has ever witnessed until the very end.

She is survived by the proudest daughter anyone could have, Tamra C. Marshall of Nellysford; her mother, Eva Anita Patterson of Lovingston; brothers, Michael Marshall and Nick Marshall of Nellysford, and Chris Campbell of Lyndhurst; and her beloved dog, Star. She leaves behind many adored and cherished family and friends who shall miss her dearly but will always remember her wonderful sense of humor.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2010, at Rockfish Valley Baptist Church.

In accordance with her wishes that we celebrate her life and not mourn her death, there will be not services at this time. Instead, there will be a celebration of her life held during her favorite time of the year, the Fall, time and place to be determined, in which we will consume tons of food and chocolate as she wanted.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Almost Home Pet Adoption Center, P.O. Box 85, Lovingston, Virginia, in her name.

We also ask that you take a moment each day to stop, smile, and recall the many smiles she left on the faces of the people whose lives she touched, then pass that smile forward.

Arrangements by Wells/ Sheffield Funeral Chapel, Lovingston, Virginia, 434-263-4097.

Tammy, Your mom was so special to everyone in my family. Shelby, Shelton, Michael and Mama and Daddy and I all loved Diane so much!

June 14, 2010

Tammy, Your mom was the kindest, sweetest, truest friend anyone ever had. Those of us who were lucky enough to be loved by her knew she always had our back and would never let us down. She had the best sense of humor, the best laugh, and she was the most wonderful person I've ever known. I will miss her forever.
