Martha Anne Conley Hunt

Martha Anne Conley Hunt, of Charlottesville, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center following a brief illness.

She was born on April 22, 1933, in Culpeper, Virginia, the daughter of the late Robert Lee Conley, Sr and Bertha Morris Conley.

She joined the Charlottesville Presbyterian Church on April 7, 1946, and was a devoted life-long member, nursery helper/ Sunday school teacher and volunteer of the church, which later became First Presbyterian Church of Charlottesville.

She attended Charlottesville Public Schools, and held different positions during her 45- year banking career with National Bank/Jefferson National Bank/Wachovia Bank.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Luther Monroe Hunt Jr; one son, Gary Monroe Hunt and his wife, Debbie, of Stuarts Draft; one daughter, Judith Hunt Price and her husband, Scott, of Palmyra; one brother, Robert Lee Conley Jr. and his wife. Joanne; two sisters, Evelyn Marie Conley and Gracie Conley Dulaney, all of Charlottesville; three treasured granddaughters, Caroline Hunter Price, Norah Monroe Hunt and Lindsay Campbell Price; and six nieces and nephews, and many friends and neighbors in the Fry Springs area where the Hunts have resided for 46 years.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2010, at Mooreland Baptist Church in North Garden with Reverend Kimberleigh Wells officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2010, at the Teague Funeral Home.

The family would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Amy West for her loving care, as well as to the staff on the 4th floor Coronary Care Unit.

Anne was a kind and generous woman who treasured every moment and whose constant smile and zest for life will be greatly missed.
