Mary Charlotte Ellsworth

Mary Charlotte Ellsworth, 80, of Orange, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2010, at the Hospice House in Charlottesville.

She was born on October 2, 1930, in Orange County, the daughter of the late Lawrence T. and Lillian Walker Layton. Her husband was the late Cliff Ellsworth.

Mrs. Ellsworth is survived by a daughter, Brenda Clark McDaniel of Orange and her husband, David; a son, James A. Clark Jr. and his wife, Helen, of Goldsboro, North Carolina; sisters, Ruby Beatrice Napier and her husband, James, of Charlottesville, Jean Dempsey of Orange and Anne Lane of Newport News; grandchildren, Mary Ellen Bowman, David McDaniel Jr. and his wife, Tiffany, all of Orange, Kristie Crabtree and her husband, Lee, Bryan Clark and his wife, Valerie, all of Goldsboro, North Carolina; seven great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews include one special niece, Denise Snow.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Graham Cemetery, with the Reverend Doctor Dallan Ferneyhough officiating.

Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is in charge of arrangements.
