Melvin Francis Naylor

Melvin Francis Naylor, 80, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at his home in Charlottesville.

He was born June 13, 1930, the son of William Hobson Naylor and Mary Claude (Claudie) Bickers.

He was preceded in death by, Margaret Walker Naylor, his wife, of 49 years; two sisters, Margaret Wright Douglas and Hazel Pauline Morris; and two brothers, Lemuel Ray Naylor and William Albert Naylor.

Survivors include two sisters, Louise F. Morris of Earlysville, and Mary Nimmo of Ruckersville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Naylor was a metal cutter at a manufacturing facility for many years. His main hobbies were making and refinishing furniture, and yard sales. He was a real pro at both. He loved to go fishing in his spare time, and was always willing to help his friends and neighbors even as his health failed.

A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011, at the Teague Funeral Home, by the Reverend Don Hellms, with interment at Monticello Memory Gardens.
