Myrtle Louise White Moyer

Myrtle Louise White Moyer, 94, died on Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Lovingston Health Care Center.

She was born on October 27, 1916, in Nelson County, a daughter of the late James William White and Susie White Bridgewater.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hamilton Moyer; a daughter, Louise Richey; a son, Sidney "Sam" Moyer; four brothers, Yeaman White, Warren H. White, Estes White, and Lawrence "Ray" White; two sisters, Margaret Huffman and Edith Brogan; two granddaughters, Jane Marie Moyer and Cheryl Ann Bennett; and a stepfather, Robert Bridgewater.

Myrtle was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and was a retired cook from George Washington High School in Alexandria with over 29 years of service.

She is survived by her daughter, June Marie Cross and her husband, Robert "Bob", of Hudson, Florida; a son-in-law; Alan Richey of Anderson, South Carolina; a very special niece, Sandra K. Bryant; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2010, at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel, in Lovingston, with the Reverend John P. Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Church Cemetery in Lovingston.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service.
