Dear Mary Gat,Mason,
I can remember your ma bringing me comic books when I had the flu at age 9. My ma didn't allow comic books, so they were a cherished possession, which I still have along with a lifetime of wonderful memories of your mom.
I am truly grateful for having the chance to be enriched by her.
I am thinking of you. Love Ross

Mary Gat, I don't know if you remember me, but I lived in Charlottesville from 1978-1995, and I have very fond memories of you and your mom. She was a really lovely woman, with a lively sense of humor, a great appetite for fun, and just an all around sparkplug. I know you will miss her, but you can be comforted in knowing that she lived a full, rich life and made many great friends through the years.

To the entire Caperton Family- I would like to offer not only my condolences but an affirmation of what a lively and wonderful friend Nancy was. I met Nancy on the golf course (of course) in one of our many team matches with Farmington CC. I was drawn to her (as were so many) as she was so enthusiastic, quick witted and just a wonderfully attractive individual. My favorite times with Nancy were off the golf course when she would be in her element telling jokes, stories and entertaining even those that were usually difficult to entertain! I will always so fondly remember my times with Nancy- as she always brightened any atmosphere, and what a gift that was.
I am so sad I will not be able to be there this afternoon for the service, but I am having a small procedure done that can not be changed. Best to you all and I hope you find great comfort knowing what a difference Nancy made to so many people. Best regards, Boodie McGurn

What a wonderful life and what a wonderful smile -- it embodies all the stories I heard about her through the years. Though I never had a chance to meet her I know she lives on through her children and grandchildren and what a legacy she has left! You are shining tangible embodiments of your mom -- here's to all her shots being true!
Wish we could be there -- all our love: Jim, Arax, Nicky and Charlie (Mitchell)
