Peggie Jean Marks
Peggie Jean Marks, 68, of Charlottesville, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010, surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 2, 1941, in Charlottesville, to Marie Snow Morris and the late Charles Irving Morris. Also preceding her in death, was her husband of many years Earl Eugene Marks; and two special sisters-in- law, Thelma Martin and Linda Marks.
In addition to her mother, Marie, she is survived by her daughters, Renee Leake and her husband, Scott, Michelle Shifflett and her husband, Earl, and Tonya Willoughby and her husband, Andrew; and a special granddaughter, Tamara Marks, whom she raised as her own; along with grandchildren, Kayla, Josh, Clay, Candice, Dylan, Anthony, Aaron, and Alan; a special aunt, Odell Smith and her husband, Marcus; a special uncle, Ralph Snow and his wife, Doris; a very special niece, Debbie Eubanks; two dear cousins, Donna Batten and Nancy Shull; and her special friends, Barbara Hensley and Jenny Sprouse.
Having worked for Comdial for 40 years she retired to spend more time with her family.
The family wishes to thank all the special cousins that came and sat with her, Robin, Trudy, Lori, Melissa Fowler and Katie Williams for their support and many others as well.
"We love you Mom and you are the best mom we could ever have asked for."
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Evergreen Church of the Brethren in Dyke, Virginia, with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

I just found out today, that Peggie has passed away. My heart is breaking. I worked with Peggie at Comdial for many years. She was loved by everyone who knew her. My thoughts and prayers go out to her mother, children, grandchildren, and the entire family. She will be greatly missed. I know she's in heaven now, and out of pain, and smiling down on us now. I loved you Peggie.

I found out last evening that Peggy has passed away. I am so sorry not to have known about her illness and I am so sorry for the family and many friends that are grieving her loss. Though Peggy and I were related, we go way back as far as grade school as friends. (One of my favorite memories is from McGuffey School days when Peggy and I sang "Kawlija" in a school talent show.) We were so nervous! Years later when I would run into her we would laugh about the meanness we used to get into as teenagers. She would tell me all about her 3 girls and I would tell her all about my 3 boys. Peggy was such a good and sincere person.
As memories of the past come to my mind, I know you all have many, many wonderful ones that will linger forever. Though I am unable to attend the services today, I will be thinking of you all and asking God to comfort and bless each one.

I am so sorry to read of Peggy's passing. It has been many years, since I last saw Peggy. I spoke to Curtis on Saturday and he told me about Peggy being sent home from the hospital. He just got out of the hospital himself. I have very fond memories of Peggy when I was small. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
