"Miss France" was one of the more dedicated teachers at McIntire, and among many, many other students of hers, I thought a lot of her. Her influence on us cannot be imagined. Thank you, Miss France. We will miss you.

I have warm memories of Sara as teacher (“Miss France”) and friend at McIntire School, over sixty years ago. My appreciation and affection have grown over the years as I reflect on the importance of her patience, understanding, and encouragement, even though my primary interests were then outside the classroom. Our last conversation was at the 50th Class Reunion and Sara was just the same- encouraging and positive. In more recent years my Christmas notes have always been promptly answered and a joy to receive. My warm memories remain.

I am very sorry to learn of Sara Wayne's death.
She was my junior and senior year mathematics teacher at McIntire. I last wrote to her about the leverage she had. I became a mathematics teacher at Boston University and trained many hundreds of them.
