Stanford Heath Allison Jr.

Stanford Health Allison Jr., 22, of Belmont, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, from injuries sustained in an accident in Santa Barbara, California.

Heath was a student at Santa Barbara City College and a graduate of Trinity Episcopal Preparatory School in Charlotte.

Heath was a beloved son, brother and friend, and will be missed greatly. He was endowed with gifts in music, art and drama and had an amazing ability to make people laugh. He was a wide open, spiritual personality whose passion and concern for others touched many. Heath was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Gastonia, North Carolina, where he enjoyed warm fellowship as a member of the church family. He had deep faith in God's love and respect for His creation.

Heath is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Heath Allison, his sister, Mary Hopkins, and brother, Turner, all of Belmont, North Carolina. Other surviving family members are his grandmother, Beverley Heyl Allison of Gordonsville; grandfather, Neville M. Allison of Moody, Texas; uncles and aunts, Neville Monroe and Florence Dee Allison Jr., David Turner and Elizabeth Rivers Heyl of Orange County and Donnie Glenn and Dorsey Allison Comer of Rochelle, Virginia; and 10 first cousins.

A memorial service was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Gastonia with the Reverend Shawn Griffith officiating. The family received friends at their home following the service.

Memorials in lieu of flowers, should be placed with the Memorial Fund at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 258 West Franklin Boulevard, Gastonia, NC 28052.
