Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven

Jesse Dean Allison, 68, a devoted family man and lifelong outdoorsman, passed away surrounded by those he loved on November 22, 2025, in Hernando, MS. He was born in Memphis, TN, to Jesse Ray and Betty Sue Allison.

For 38 years, Jesse proudly served as a truck driver for Averitt Express. He took great pride in his work, forming friendships on the road and earning the respect of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family were hallmarks of his life.

Jesse could often be found where he was happiest-out in nature. He loved sports and was an avid fisherman, spending countless quiet mornings casting for bass, brim, and crappie. He also loved deer hunting and appreciated the peace and tradition it brought him.

Of all Jesse's roles, the one he cherished most was being Papaw. He adored his granddaughters and his great-granddaughter, and their smiles brought him more happiness than anything else. His family was his greatest blessing, and he loved them beyond measure.

Jesse Allison will be remembered for his generous heart, his easy laugh, and the way he always made time for the people and pastimes he treasured. Though he will be deeply missed, the stories, lessons, and love he shared will live on in all who knew him.

Mr. Allison is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Allison of Hernando, MS; his son, Blake (Erica) Allison of Hernando; his daughter, Kelsey (Matt) Allison Parrish of Hernando, MS; his brother, Jimmy Allison of Savannah, TN; his five granddaughters, Taylor Parrish, Emery Allison and Brynlee Allison, all of Hernando, Layke Parrish of Byhalia and Oakley Allison of Hernando; his great granddaughter, Sutton Cooper of Hernando, MS; his cat, Kitty Girl; many friends, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Ray and Betty Sue Allison; his brother, Arthur Ray Allison; and his beloved dog, Lola.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Road, East, Southaven, MS). A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. Burial will be in DeSoto Memorial Gardens. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven has charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. (Stjude.org)

Expressions of condolences may be left on his Tribute Wall at www.colemanfuneralhomesh.com.

Yesterday

So sorry to hear about Jesse. It has been years since seeing Jesse and wish we had stayed in touch. We had a lot of good times together around the ball field and coaching the boys. My heart goes out to Blake, Kelsey, Vicki and all the grandkids & great grandkids, y´all are in our prayers.
