Dear Kathy and family,
Your mother was my second mother all through high school and she'd treat me just like I was one of the family. When I went off to college out of state she'd send me her special cookies for the Christmas holiday, especially my very favorites, the Russian tea cookies. When she was getting on in years and it became too much for her to bake massive quantities of cookies as she always had she sent me the recipe so I could make them for myself. No many how many times I've made them, they will never taste quite the same as they did when she lovingly baked them especially for me and mailed them to a hungry college kid. I will always miss those special talents she had along with her very fun quirks like sticking her finger in each of the chocolates in the box before picking just the right one for her and the rest of us either ate the left over or laughed it off. She was great fun and we'd giggle late into the night. I'm so sorry I didn't even know she was sick so I could give her a little call to let her know how much I cared. I'm sure though that she'll always know how much she was appreciated and loved by her huge family and extended loved ones. Thanks for always being there for me to share and make us laugh. She was "bloody" funny(our favorite phrase). Love to all of you, Lesli Rosenthal/Mulligan
