McDaniel Mallory

Thyra Lee McDaniel Mallory of Gordonsville passed away on Monday, October 25, 2010, at the Dogwood Village of Orange.

She was born on November 6, 1931, in Albemarle County, the daughter of the late Charlie Frank and Pearl Lena Brookman McDaniel. She was the wife of the late Raymond Arnold Mallory. Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Mary Lena Edmonds, Dorothy Mae Nicholson and Florence Snow.

Mrs. Mallory was retired from Aileen Company of Orange and attended Orange Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Brenda Lee Backe and her husband, Steven, Sharon Mae Kent and her husband, Clarence, all of Gordonsville, Karen Faye Mallory and her fiance, Jeffery Johnson, of Ruckersville, And Tammy Jean Dix and her husband, David, of Rhoadesville; a brother, James Willie McDaniel and his wife, Sandra, of Orange; a sister, Pearl M. Holliday of Rapidan; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010, at the Preddy Funeral Home of Orange with interment at the Graham Cemetery. The Reverend Grayson Delano will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at the funeral home.
