Virginia Hill Obituary

Virginia Lee Hill

Virginia Lee Hill, better known as Nanny, 76, wife of the late James Chester Hill Sr., and a resident of Gordonsville, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

A native of Lorton, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Prince. She was retired from McGuire Woods Law Firm in Charlottesville after many years of service. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Edwin "Chucky" Hill.

Nanny is survived by a son, James Chester "Jamie" Hill Jr. of Gordonsville; four daughters, Carolyn Lee Blackmon and her husband, Alan, of Powhatan, Brenda Jean Hill-Martin and her husband, Nelson, of Bumpass, Peggy Sue Riner and her husband, Tommy, of Gordonsville and Terri Lynn Gollinger of Powhatan; one brother, Samuel Prince and his wife, Patty, of Mineral; three sisters, Linda Weaver and her husband, Dan, of Dallas, Texas, Susie Henry of Fredericksburg, and Cheryl Mattes and her husband, Paul, of Gaithersburg, Maryland; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville with Pastor Josh Turner officiating. Interment at Spring Grove Cemetery in Mineral will be private.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at the funeral home.

I am so sorry you slpped away from me.I was dealing with my dads death, knowng the whole time I should have come to visit you in the hospital. But what I felt I needed to tell you I couldn't bare. Now I know you both have met again.Thank you for being my dad (Georgie Peorgie's) best girl and best friend.God bless the family's for they have met again. I miss you in life, I now miss you in death. Till we meet again my freind.
