Virginia Louise Thacker Davis

Virginia Louise Thacker Davis of Charlottesville, died on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at the age of 80.

She was born on September 30, 1929, in Albemarle County, the daughter of the late Delwood Madison Thacker and Louise Earl Graves.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Coleman Davis Jr.; a sister, Gladys Thacker Sipe; and a daughter-in-law, Helen Armstrong.

She is survived by one son, Charles Cecil Armstrong of Afton; one daughter, Carolyn Virginia Johnson and her husband, Mike, of Staunton; three sisters, Nancy Alice Wright of Charlottesville, Dottie Faris of Afton, and Mazsie Donald of Crozet; three brothers, Alfred Thacker of Chesapeake, Ernest Thacker of Charlotteville, Billy Thacker of Pennsylvania and Sidney Thacker of Chesapeake, Virginia.

She was a retired housekeeper for Mrs. Lucy Lagrand.

Family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Western Albemarle Rescue Squad. P.O. Box 188, Crozet, VA 22932.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Crozet, Virginia.

Graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2010, at Rockgate Cemetery in Crozet, Virginia, with the Reverend Johnny Heartless officiating.

Anderson Funeral Home of Crozet is in charge of arrangements.
