Vivian W. Covey

Vivian W. Covey, 89, of St. Petersburg, Florida, died Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Springs at Boca Ciega Bay.

She was born in Diamond Springs, Michigan, and retired to Stanardsville, Virginia, before moving to St. Petersburg, Florida.

She received her Bachelor's degree from Hillsdale College, and her Master's degree from Ball State University, majoring in education. She taught for 18 years and she co-managed a Presbyterian Retirement Home in Philadelphia. She was active in church music and enjoyed handwork crafts.

She married Donald Covey in 1943 and together they had two children. She was preceded in death by her son, Paul M. Covey.

She is survived by her husband, Donald D. Covey of St. Petersburg, Florida; and her daughter, Suzanne Swisher of St. Petersburg, Florida. She is also survived by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
