Walter Bernard Faris Walter B. Faris, 78, of Charlottesville, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at a local hospital.

Mr. Faris was born in Albemarle County on August 31, 1932, to the late Walter G. and Luttie Farrish Faris. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred McCauley; and a brother, James H. Faris.

Mr. Faris served his country in the United States Marines. He was a salesman at Sears for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Maupin Faris; a sister, Barbara Penington of Louisa; two brothers, Wilbourn G. Faris of Richmond, Virginia and Roscoe G. Faris of Charlottesville.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2010, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Norman Johnson and the Reverend Franklin Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Mooreland Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010.
