William Arthur "Bill" Tonnancour

William Arthur "Bill" Tonnancour, 54, of Orange, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010, at his residence.

He was born on September 17, 1956, in Lady Smith, Wisconsin, the son of the late Patricia Rasmussen Tonnancour.

He was a mechanic with Virginia Department of Transportation.

Mr. Tonnancour is survived by his father, David Tonnancour of Holcombe, Wisconsin; his wife, Patricia Gipson Tonnancour of Orange; two sons, Christopher R. Hebert and his fiancee, Susan Taylor, William Cody Tonnancour and his girlfriend, Katlin Carpenter, all of Orange; brothers, David Tonnancour Jr. and his wife, Debbie, Dan Tonnancour and his wife, Jeannie, all of Holcome, Wisconsin; a sister, Diane Owens and her husband, David, of Wisconsin; two grandsons, Chance R. and Chloe R. Hebert, both of Orange; and a mother-in-law, Mary Gipson of Orange.

There will be a memorial service 2 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010, at his residence on Old Gordonsville Road in Orange with Pastor John Hodgen officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.

Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is in charge of arrangements.

I was employed along with Bill at the local Orange Ford-Mercury dealership in the early 1990's. Bill could always be counted on to do the best job possible. He will be missed.

I went to elementary school and WHS. with Bill. We rode bikes together. He always made me laugh. It doesn't seem that long ago. I am so sorry for your loss. I'm praying for your family.
