Anne, even though we have been out of touch since our boys were in school together, when I saw you at the hospital two weeks ago, my heart went out to you and your family. I so wanted to help take the pain you were experiencing away. You and your family have been in my prayers since that moment and will continue to be. Although, we have moved to the next town, please know that I am just a call away and would love to offer any help you may need at this time. When I met Michael some 35 years ago Steve and all the other friends came with the package. We all became close friends. Steve was always the glue to keeping everyone together. He and Michael kept in close touch as you know all these years. I will miss his phone calls. He would always call and not say hello but he would say "so new?" I will miss hearing that voice over the phone line. He was one of the kindest, funniest guys I have ever met. He will always be in my heart. I know he has passed his great personality and work ethic down to his beautiful boys. Im so glad that I got to be his friend.

Having left New Jersey shortly after college, I can only recall seeing Steve a handful of times in my adult life. Our mutual friendship with Ben Tonti kept us tenuously in touch and vaguely aware of the details of each others lives. On those occasions where we did meet, I was quite surprised at the man he had become. The gleam in his eye was still there, but the sharper, more awkward edges of youth had been rounded and smoothed to reveal a true man. Steve, like myself, was a little awkward as a teenager. We both were locked in a struggle to discern and understand the why of things, all the while being forced to navigate the difficulties presented by the chemistry of youth. But while I was cursed with a more brooding demeanor, Steve had a wonderful, eccentric, exceedingly clever joy about him. In thinking back on the times we spent together so many years ago, I can still hear him laugh then see him lean his head ever so slightly to reveal that mischievous twinkle in his eye. I will never forget that little laser beam of a twinkle, nor the intelligence, kindness and zest for living that powered it.

For all those closest to him, please take my sincerest sympathy on this tragic loss. I hope my brief recollection gives you some comfort.

I wish to express my deepest sincere condolences to the Drucker family in this most sorrowful time.
I knew Steve best in our formative years growing up in Holmdel. He possessed a very unique whimsical charm that left an indelible mark on me. When I had the opportunity to spend some quality re-acquaintance time with Steve in our adult lives, I was astonished at how that boyhood whimsy was crafted into a keen adult wit and sharp insights into experiences that had shaped both our lives.
I consider myself very fortunate that Steve has touched my life. Now, I only hope that my respectful remembrances can provide some comfort to his family and other close friends.
