George Winter

AGE: 82 • Blairstown

George Bennett "Ben" Winter, passed away on April 23, 2013. Longtime resident of Blairstown, he was born on November 6th, 1930 in Passaic, NJ and attended Newark Academy and then The Hotchkiss School. He graduated from Yale in 1953 and then Columbia Business School. Ben served as a naval officer in the Korean War. He joined Pettit Paint Company in 1957 as General Manager and worked his way up to President before retiring in 1997 to become a full time farmer raising cattle.

Predeceased by his wife, Shirley Winter in 2012. Survived by his children, Susan Carneal (Scott) of Germantown MD, George R. Winter (Julie) of Blairstown, & Elizabeth White (Michael) of Phoenixville, PA.; 7 grandchildren also survive him.

A memorial service will be held at The First Presbyterian Church of Blairstown on Saturday, April 27th at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Future Farmers of America.
