Maureen Hart Obituary
AGE: 57 • formerly of Morristown
Maureen Hart, 57, of Hopkinton, NH, formerly of Morristown, NJ, died on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 surrounded by her family. Maureen was born in Yonkers, NY on June 10, 1956. Following her graduation from Bayley-Ellard High School she earned a B.A. degree in Education from The College of New Jersey, graduating magna cum laude in 1980. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi as well as Kappa Delta Pi (International Honor Society in Education). Maureen's career was a testament to her lifetime love of learning. Her professional experience ranged from teaching deaf children in the inner city to positions with several well-known firms as a corporate learning consultant. Maureen was passionate about helping others. A lifelong advocate for abused and neglected children, she served as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer where she had the opportunity to actively assist troubled children in their pursuit of a better life. Maureen enjoyed gardening, boating in coastal New Hampshire, antiquing throughout New England and her cats Moo Moo and Coco.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Peter Carpenter of Hopkinton, NH; her siblings, Paul of Mantoloking, Gregory of Lone Tree, CO, Charles of Basking Ridge, Clare of Skillman, Regina of Morristown and Nicholas of Randolph.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Morristown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maureen's memory to: Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association - Hospice House, The Slusser Center, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, NH 03301 or www.crvna.org.
