DR. HENRY NELSON BARLETTA
AGE: 81 MANTOLOKING
Dr. Henry Nelson Barletta, 81, of Mantoloking, formerly of New Providence passed away in Dover Com
passionate Care Center on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Dr. Barletta was born in New York City to Henry and Mary (nee DiGirolomo). He was raised in Orange, NJ and graduated from Seton Hall University in 1950 and Temple University Dental School in 1955. Dr. Barletta served as a captain in the US Army and patriotically served his country for 2 years. He moved to New Providence, NJ in 1957 and set up a successful dental practice where he practiced general dentistry for 45 years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Earlier, he had been a little league baseball coach in New Providence. Dr. Barletta retired to Mantoloking in 1986 where he enjoyed daily bicycle rides, fishing, gardening, playing piano and spending time with his family and friends.
He is the beloved husband of Alice (nee Vreeland). Loving father of Henry "Hank" Barletta and his wife, Jean, of Madison, Ann Kahn of Scotch Plains, Dr. Daniel Barletta and his wife, Laurie, of New Providence and John Barletta and his wife, Debbie, of New Providence. Cherished grandfather of Robbie, Ryan, Jeramie, Amanda, Priscilla, Daniel, David, Jackson, Johnny, and Michael Barletta and Eddie, Brian, and David Kahn. The visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Hts., NJ on Thursday, July 22nd, from 7-9 PM and Friday, July 23rd, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Church, New Providence, on Saturday, July 24th, at 10 AM followed by the interment in St. Teresa's Cemetery, Summit. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to New Providence Athletic Booster Club, c/o the Barletta's, 17 Pitney Ave., New Providence, NJ 07974.
