Gregory Pellinger Obituary
AGE: 17 • Hopatcong
Gregory Matthew Pellinger of Hopatcong, NJ passed away on Thursday, February 19th at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was 17. Greg was born March 4, 1997 in Morristown, NJ to Gregory and LeeAnn (Bostedo) Pellinger.
He was a popular and beloved senior at Hopatcong High School where he was very active in the Drama Club and played soccer. Gregory enjoyed drawing, acting, artwork , music, Transformers and the Power Rangers. He was employed at Quick Check in Mt. Arlington.
Gregory is survived by his parents Gregory Urban and LeeAnn (Bostedo); his sisters, Nicole Marie, Megan Leigh, Michele Lee and his twin sister Gillian Marie; his paternal grandfather, Urban Pellinger; his maternal grandfather, David Bostedo; many aunts, uncles cousins and friends.
He was pre-deceased by his paternal grandmother, Marcella Pellinger in 2002 and his maternal grandmother, Anna Rae Bostedo in 2010.
Gregory's Life Celebration will include visitation on Tuesday, February 24th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at St. Jude's RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive in Hopatcong, NJ. There will be a funeral mass on Wednesday, February 25th at 10:00 am also at St. Jude's RC Church. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at the church on both Tuesday and Wednesday. I work in Mount Arlington. Every night before I drove home to Union City, I stopped at quikcheck for some goodies. I work on the lake and I was usually cold and miserable afterward. Greg always greeted me with a smile even though I was often a total grump. His positive aura was unmistakable and he brightened my day more than once. He was a remarkable young man and this world is a little less bright without his cheery personality. God bless and keep you, Gregory.

I am so sad to hear this. I seen Gregory many times at the Quik Chek and he was always such a nice kid. I found this out today while I was in the Quik Chek and saw that he had passed away. My heart goes out to all of his family and friends.

To the Pelliger Family my deepest heartfelt sympathy and condolences on the so unfortunate passing of Gregory. I live in Mt Arlington and frequently visited the Quick Check where Greg worked. Every time I came into the store he was always smiling and so happy and very pleasant. He was a very fine young man and I will miss him dearly. He will always be remembered and again my heart goes out to you.

Although i did not know Gregory my daughter is the same age and i will never know the agony you are going through.you can see from looking at him what a beautiful soul he was..he will always be in your heart..he is all around you..his beautiful soul will live forever..we are praying for Gregory and his loved ones~

To the Pellinger family, I am so sorry to hear about Gregory. I go to that quick check a few times a week, and saw him quite a bit over the few months he worked there. I liked him right away- he was just a nice, friendly kid and was always funny and uplifting. I remember standing in line there, and I kind of fantasized about what I would say or do if someone was rude to him. Well, Gregory didn't need my help. His positive personality seems to have brought out the best in those around him, because every time I saw him interact with a customer, they were just as pleasant to him as he was to them.
My girlfriend had her own similar experience. I think Gregory's mom and sister came to quick check one day and brought their dog with them. She watched him run up and hug them-- all smiles as always. She was so impressed with how good he was to his family. As a mother, she was so pleased to see such a loving kid.
You never know who's watching. You never know who's life you are impacting. If I had to guess, I'd say there are a lot of other people just like me who Gregory left a strong impression on. I am so sorry for your loss, but I hope this helps you in some way.

Dear Pellinger family
I did not know Greg directly. He had waited on me a few times at quick check but I was one of a few whom stopped and stayed with your son and his friend until the police arrived. I do not know Gregory, you or your family, ...but in an instant I now have some insight to this remarkable young man. The response and love from his friends, school and family is obvious; it is a lasting statement in itself.
I am so sorry for your tragic loss; which I too know first-hand, now 16 months ago since the loss of my 17 year old son - also to an automobile accident. I know that few will ever truly understand your pain. But I can say that the love that comes (from this dark turning point in time) has only just begun, ...and I believe it will last an eternity.
With faith, I know you will come to celebrate Gregory's gifts on earth (you already are), and someday soon, may you celebrate the eternal gifts that come from his passing.

He was such a sweet and kind person. I didn't know him personally, just as a daily customer at quick check. He always had a smile on his face, and that's why I always called him smiley. My prayers go out to his family.
