Robert Asplund Obituary
AGE: 79 • Jefferson Twp.
Lake Hopatcong: Robert F. Asplund passed away peacefully on July 31, 2017 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover. He was 79 years of age.
Robert was born and raised in Brooklyn then lived in Fall River, MA for many years and joined the Army Reserves while in Fall River. He has lived in the Lake Hopatcong section of Jefferson Twp. for the past 40 years.
He worked as a Port Authority Police Officer for 20 years retiring in 1980 and later started his own auto part distributing company, Lund Products. His favorite hobbies were going out to eat with family and friends, boating, fishing, going to the casino, attending church functions and especially spending time with his beloved grandson, Ryan.
He was predeceased by his wife Anita in 2011, brother George Asplund and sister Marjorie McDonald.
He is survived by his son Bruce Asplund and his wife Wendy of Lake Hopatcong and grandson Ryan Asplund.
Visitation will be held 2-4pm & 6-8pm on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. A funeral service will be held 10:00am on Friday at the Berkshire Valley Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in Robert's memory to the Berkshire Valley Presbyterian Church, 635 Berkshire Valley Road, Wharton, NJ 07885 would be appreciated. Offer condolences at www.BerminghamFH.com

Many fond memoirs of Freddie, too numerous to mention. He also had a wry smile as well as the ability to laugh so sincerely. I'll always remember the 65 Plymouth ragtop and the fun associated with that car. And how happy he was with his new girlfriend and wife, Anita.
Fred, you are now with her and the Lord in paradise.
