Dr. Murphy delivered my and most of my siblings and was my pediatrician through adolescence. When I had children he made a home visit to our apartment in 1996, that no longer exists. I remember hundreds of appointments from the 70´-late 80´s of a bed side manner that always included "now mom I need you to take your son" type dialogue.

Dr. Murphy was my doctor from birth until HS. At one time my daughter was ill and he drove from Irving to euless to make a house call with his black docs bag. He was truly a doctors DOCTOR. I remember childhood and have fond memories of docs visits. He treated and took care of most of our brothers and cousins. I wish the old office was still around when we were children.

Dr. Murphy, to us you were the best Dr. In the World. You took care of all of us when we were little since 1959. You were so kind and gentle and went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of . You dedicated your whole life to all the children you cared for and we loved you so much. Our deepest Prayers go out to your family.

Dr. Murphy was a parent and child's dream come true! I will always remember his kind and reassuring manner, the "teen room" at his office, how he took the time to make my new baby better while we were visiting home in Irving, and how he diagnosed my adult cousin John with leukemia when no other 'experts' could. What a legacy! Your children (aka-patients) give thanks for your life and gift to us and our families

I am SO glad I got a hug from Dr. Murphy in church on my previous visit back to Irving. My pediatrician since my birth in 1960, he was so kind and caring and took time to listen and explain... not always the case in todays rushed world.

I am so sad to read the story ,brings me to tears. Dr. Murphy was a very good friend of mine and took such good care of my son Christopher A. Estes he was born weighing 2 lbs. 10 oz. Dr. Murphy is the only doctor in Irving who would take my son in and take care of him and he took very good care of my son Christopher, who is now 30yrs. I can only say the most wonderful things about Dr. Thomas he was a great and gentle man and one of the most wonderful physicians that I have ever known. I will think of him often. My condolences to his wife Joyce please know that you will be in my prayers and along with your family. RIP Dr. Thomas Murphy you'll be missed by many. Love you Monica
