John Johnson Obituary

Johnson, Jr., John Edgar "Ed" John Edgar "Ed" Johnson, Jr., age 77, of Parker, Texas, passed away January 11, 2012, in Plano, Texas. Ed was born July 21, 1934, in Pampa, Texas, to John Edgar and Wilma Erdine (Twentier) Johnson. He married Barbara Lou Hunter on December 4, 1959, at Rosemont Christian Church in Oak Cliff, Texas. Ed graduated with a bachelor degree from North Texas State College in Denton, Texas. He retired in 2001 from his Kwik Kopy franchise in Plano. Ed was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Plano where he served as an elder and was a member of the Seekers Sunday School class. He was a faithful member of the Senior CMF and Happy Days group. He also served with the Sunset High School Alumni Association as well as the Kwik Kopy Owners Association. Ed proudly served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He is survived by his wife, Barbara L. Johnson, of Parker, Texas; children, Terry Max Johnson and wife, Virginia, of Round Rock, Texas, Deborah Lynn Loveday and husband, Troy, of Allen, Texas, and Timothy Todd Johnson and wife, Jenifer, of Canton, Texas; grandchildren, Luke Hunter Johnson, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Morgan Johnson, Jeremy Michael Loveday, and Jonathan Andrew Loveday; and sisters, Sandra Lynn Clayton, and husband, Phil, of Heath, Texas and Donna Jean Britain and husband, Chuck, of Garland, Texas and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Plano, Texas with Dr. Doug Deuel officiating. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m., at the Celeste Hogeye Cemetery located east of Celeste, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. To convey condolences or to sign an online registry, please visit www.tjmfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 813 E. 15th St., Plano, Texas 75074. Please write in memo line, "Ed Johnson." Funds will be distributed to Disciples Crossing campsite, Athens, Texas.
