I still miss Bob as he was one of a kind. When he was in Dubuque he always stopped by and we would visit. George Pemsl from Dubuque. We always think of Barb also.

No one compares to Bob. Bob was a "large than life" character in every way. Bob's heart was larger than he was. He gave me such love through his caring, teaching, advising, sharing, and playing. Everywhere in the world that Bob traveled he was always met with the largest ovations and smiles. While extremely fun and thoughtful, Bob was mostly known for his intellect, innovation, skill, and fair play. Customers knew that Bob truly wanted the best for them.
Having traveled with Bob for years, I also know how much he loved and missed and respected his family. Barb, you were the North Star in his life. He revered you. Boys (now men), to say that your Father was proud of you tells so little of the story. He glowed talking about you all. He loved you all.
Bob Edwards is one of the most remarkable people I have ever met.
Best to you all!
George

Dear Edwards Family,
As shocked as i am to find out about Bob passing, I wanted to let all of you know that you are in my prayers. It was a pleasure to have worked with Bob and to become friends with him. It was more of a pleasure to meet his family and know how much you all were such a huge part of his life. We would hear all the time of your success's and how well you were doing. Along with the update came his jokes and political update.

Bob was one of the most impressive men that I have every met. We have traveled to many places and saw a lot of things. He was a great role model to me and helped me to become a better person and a better father. I hope all of you are as proud of him as I am.

From my family to yours I wish you the best and would like to hear from you if you have a chance. To a great man, father, boss and friend I will truly miss you my friend.

Dear Edwards Family,
I am so sorry I am just learning that Bob passed as I heard from Skip Likins who also would like to contact you. I would have very much liked to have supported you all at the funeral and spoken about what an amazing man Bob was and how important he has been in my life. Bob had a wonderful way with all the people he came in contact with, and he made a huge impact on my family's life, our company, our customers, and everyone around him.
We are all aware of Bob's talents with people, but equally amazing was how savvy and skilled he was in business, computers, software, manufacturing, marketing, sales, customer service, entrepreneurship, finances, and engineering. I don't think I have ever seen anyone with as high a skill set in so many areas.
I was fortunate to travel the world with Bob and I can firmly attest to his deep love of his family. Bob was incredibly proud of his boys and their spouses and never a day went by without his face beaming over his greatest blessing--- his kids. I have spent hundreds of quality hours in cars and bars, and boys, you would be shocked at how much I know about you!! All good, I promise.
Bob was as unique an individual as I have ever met and while he certainly was incredibly intelligent, his greatest trait was his endearing integrity and generosity. So many customers, partners, etcl completely trusted him. They knew Bob would come through no matter the price or the sacrifice. Edwards family, I know you have some idea how dedicated Bob was to do right by his word, but let me assure you, it was monumental at times.
My family and I are extremely blessed to have known Bob and we benefitted immensely. Bob gave us so much, I only wish I could remember and present a fraction of the jokes he could tell!
I am deeply sorry for your loss, Edwards family, and so frustrated with myself for not being at the funeral and speaking on Bob's behalf. He was a very special man and we are all so blessed to have known him.
Barb, I would enjoy speaking with you if you can call - 781 929-4000.

Bob was a blessing in my life. There wasn't much he could do to help me, but what he could he did. I am just a waitress at one of the places he enjoyed eating and catching up on conversations with the "breakfast club". I have two special needs sons and Bob always cared, always wanted to help. Just a year ago during Christmas, he and other regulars at the restaurant pulled their cash together and gave me a big tip for a Christmas present for my boys and I. And another time I had the worse toothache. I gathered my cash together and went to the dentist. This was a dentist Bob referred me to. I was expecting to spend at least $200. It was time to pay up, and they told me Bob had credited my account. I left only paying the difference of $20. I could go on and on. I considered him my friend. He went out of his way to do the little things for me, and he didn't have to. He will be truly missed!!!!

I was going through chemo while Bob was going through treatment. I started chemo last year at 24 years old, Bob was there always telling me I was going to make it through. What a great man. The little time I spent with him, had such an impact.

I am saddened to hear of Big Bob's passing. Being a part of the Trinity University athletics family, Bob was a staple at every football game. I have many a memory of Bob, and all of them end in his deep laugh and contagious smile. Mine and my family's prayers go out to his family, especially his son Matt who I grew close with during and after college. You will be missed, but your memory lives through all those who you touched big man. Thank you for being a great friend.

11/18/13 - just learned of Bob's passing and made this connection... I am sad to hear of my old friends passing and didn't know he was in this level of ill health. We worked together since the late 80's and shared an office as Optiproducts. Bob was a big nice guy to those who truly knew his heart. I'll miss him, but his spirit is with us. Big Bob was "Andre the Giant" in my life. He was an imposing figure, as he stood at 6 8 and looked like a former NFL lineman. He taught me how to cook a proper beer bratwurst and that a pickle is better in a martini than an olive. I will remember his booming laugh and his questionable jokes. He will be missed.
