Leonard Lewis Trapp

Trapp, Lt. Col., Leonard Leonard Lewis Trapp, Lt. Col. USAFR, Retired born in Leonard, Texas on July 17, 1932, died November 27, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents James D. and Mary Isabelle Trapp, his brothers James D., Danny, Billy, Larry, and his sister Bettiwayne. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Marguerite, his daughter Michele and her husband Brett Fulmer, and his grandchildren whom he adored Nicolas, Philippe, and Leilani. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. He graduated from East Texas State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission to the United States Air Force in 1953. He returned to ETSU and received a Master's Degree in Education in 1958. Leonard retired from DISD after 37 years of service as a coach, teacher and principal where he touched the lives of many. He never met a stranger, loved to travel with Marguerite and their children, and always cherished his time on the golf course with his long time friends. The family appreciates the excellent care given by the medical team at Baylor Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home with the Rosary to be prayed at 7:30 P.M. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday 12:00 P.M. at Saint Monica Catholic Church at Midway Road and Walnut Hill Lane, followed by entombment at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
