Robert Payne Obituary

Robert Willis Payne, of Richardson, TX, passed away December 4, 2013, at the age of 87. He was born in Oklahoma City, the son of Floyd and Elma Payne. After serving in the U.S. Navy at the end of WW II, he attended Oklahoma A & M where, after being inducted into Blue Key and many other honorary societies, he received a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for 19 years for Sylvania Electric Corp. as a manufacturing manager in Oklahoma, then plant manager at various plants in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and New York. He retired as a manufacturing manager at Texas Instruments in Dallas. Bob enjoyed his activities and volunteer work at the Richardson Senior Center where he was an avid Bridge player and a regular at the Saturday night dances. He was married in1950 to Jane Ann McCollum of Pawnee, OK, who predeceased him. He is survived by their three sons, Robert, Michael and Stan; five grandchildren, Lisa, Lindsey, Nicholas, Patrick and Marcus and two great grandchildren. Internment will be at Memorial Park in Oklahoma City. Services are under the direction of Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuary North, 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73142.
