Mitchell Maness

1960 - 2015

MANESS, Mitchell Mitchell Shawn Maness, age 55, slipped peacefully into the loving arms of his savior on April 17, 2015. Born January 17, 1960, to John and Sally Maness, in Beaufort, South Carolina. Mitchell was one of those rare souls who spent his life and energy lifting the spirits of others. His remarkable eye for beauty and perspective was apparent in his photography, but even more evident in the way he viewed people. Mitchell found something beautiful and special in everyone he met, and was always eager to share his observations. The love for his family, friends, fine wine, a great meal and especially his rescue dogs, was unsurpassed. Mitchell's warmth, wit, and impeccable character will be missed by all who were blessed to cross his path throughout his life. He is preceded in death by his father John Coke Maness. Left to love and carry on his stories and memories are his mother; Sally E. Maness and partner Murray Bridges; brother Michael S. Maness and wife Debbie; brother Mark K. Maness and wife Barbara; brother Marshall K Maness and Mary Isaacs Burgess; sister Michelle Ballard and husband Mike. Mitchell also leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended family, and hundreds of friends. A memorial will be held 4:00 PM Saturday April 25, 2015 at Brown's Memorial Funeral home.
