Jeanne Marie Posey McCullor

1937 - 2016

MCCULLOR, Jeanne Marie Posey Was born November 24, 1937 in her Great Grandmother's home in Wortham, TX. She passed away Wednesday July 6, 2016 in Plano, TX surrounded by her family. She became a believer in Jesus Christ at the early age of 5 and grew continually in her faith from that point. She loved to study the Bible and share the Good News with everyone. Jeanne was the daughter of an oilman and spent her childhood moving around the oilfields of the US. Where ever she was she made friends and always hated to move on. High School years were spent in Williston, ND where she made lifelong friends. Jeanne met Vernel James McCullor at McNeese State University and they married on April 15, 1960. Jeanne gave birth to three children: Scott Hardy McCullor; Ann Marie McCullor Hamilton; Robin Lee McCullor Dance. Jeanne earned a BA in Elementary Education and later a Master's in Education. She taught in the elementary grades for 25 years most of which were in Plano. She loved to teach and even after retiring continued to do so by helping needy children with homework, teaching ESL, and working in vacation Bible schools. Jeanne loved traveling, water skiing, camping with family, snow skiing, playing bridge with friends and every type of family get-together. She especially loved to study the Bible and was involved with Bible Study Fellowship for years. For 8 years she taught a Bible study at the memory care facility where her mother lived. Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Lucille Posey, and her sister, Susan Jane Posey Calame. In addition to her husband Jeanne leaves behind: her son, Scott, and his wife Tina Holland McCullor, and their two children - Dylan James McCullor and Allyson June McCullor; her daughter Ann and her husband Mike Hamilton, and their two sons - Collin Michael Hamilton and Austin Mac Hamilton; her daughter, Robin, and her husband, Chris Dance, and their three sons - Ian Christopher Dance, Shayler Lee Dance and Kelly James Dance. Visitation will be held at Restland Cemetery in Dallas on Friday, July 8 from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be at Hunters Glen Baptist Church in Plano Saturday morning at 1O AM. Entombment will be in the McCullor Family Mausoleum on Mirror Lake in Restland Cemetery.
