Stafford Campbell Obituary

Campbell, Stafford
7/19/21-11/11/14, Mr. Campbell was born in Stamford, CT. He attended school in Cincinnati, OH, and graduated from Yale University in 1942. He then joined the US Navy, where he was executive officer of the destroyer, John D. Henley. He earned seven campaign stars and was discharged as Lieutenant in 1946.
In 1946 he joined The Nestlé Company, and was involved in all aspects of chocolate manufacturing. He attended the Harvard University Advanced Management Program in 1960, was named president of Nestlé (Canada) in 1967, and became vice-president of The Nestlé Company in 1969.
He married Margie Livingston in 1945. For many years the couple resided in Darien, CT, before retiring to Jacksonville, FL, in 1982. In his lifetime Mr. Campbell and his wife sailed and traveled extensively.
During retirement, Mr. Campbell served on the boards of several corporations. He wrote five books on navigation and many magazine articles for Boating, Sail, and Yachting. Mr. Campbell also volunteered service on many boards and commissions, both in Darien and in Jacksonville.
Mr. Campbell leaves his wife, Margie, an artist;
children, Sarah and Charles and their spouses, of Alaska; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many others he mentored, befriended, and influenced.
Services will be scheduled at a later date.
