A little sad today but with a warm heart and spirit. My good friend, George Jewell passed away recently at 91. George's remembrance memorial will be held at El Dorado CC in Indian Wells. George was a fine Texas gentleman, honorable, humble, honest, ethical and hard working all his life. His life journey and impact on his family, friends and many others is a legend. I am very proud to have known him and of all the time we shared together over many years. The many stories we told each other over a glass of wine on his patio and in his home were very humorous and gave both of a glimpse of own history. Bonnie and are very grateful to be included with his family and friends to celebrate the life of George Jewell. God has blessed you George.

Just learned of George's passing. I shared several highly enjoyable dinners at ABA Tax Section meetings with George and my mentor, Gene Emery, in the late 1970's and early 1980's.
My condolences. Allen Sparkman

I was out of town so I'm running late with my condolences. George and I overlapped during the time he served on the Board of Pogo Producing Company. Not only did I have the pleasure of serving on the Board with George; I, also, fished and visited with him on many occassions. He was a rare human being-compassionate, caring, interested, and brilliant. I send his family my sincere condolences. He will be missed in by all who knew him.
