News Death Notice

SHULTZ, G. Merle age 88 of Englewood, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Alterra Sterling House of Englewood. Merle was born in the Perry Township - Brookville, Ohio area on January 13, 1921. He served as a General Manager for many years for the Chrysler Airtemp distributor, General Air Supply, he also worked in real estate, and finally retired from Studebaker Electric. He was a former member of the Verona Lions Club and had served on the Verona Board of Education. Merle was a licensed commercial pilot, held a patent on the soft ride bicycle, and always had a remodeling project of some type going on. He was a veteran of WW II having proudly served in the US Army. His family would like to thank the staff of Alterra Sterling House for taking such good care of Merle, and to Southern Care Hospice for helping them through the final moments. Merle is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years: Louise (Flommersfeld) Shultz, son: Terry Shultz of Centerville, sister: Doris Grover of Huber Heights, and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a son: Gary Shultz, his parents: Elmer & Meda (Bowser) Shultz, and a sister: Erma Kem. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood) with Rev. Bob Thornton officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 10:30 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be held at the Verona Cemetery. I knew Merle when he was manager of General Air Supply . I was an HVAC contr.in Tipp City & bought a lot of Airtemp equip. over 30 yrs.. He was a great help to me.I know he will be missed
