Bob was the best neighbor anyone could ever ask for. He played with our kids at the pool, picked them up from the bus stop when we were in a bind, and anything else we ever needed from him he was always quick to lend his hand. He spoke of his parents and daughters often, and the love he had for his family was so obvious when he spoke of them. We are deeply saddened by the loss of such a wonderful person. The Miles family is in our hearts and prayers.
Love,
The Zwieslers

Bob was my captain for KFD and we shared many wonderful moments and was taught so many "life lessons" from him. He will always be a keystone in my life!

Bob and I were the first 24/48 crew to run at Washington Township on the Attack in the fall of 1986. I watched Bob grow into a leader and fine officer. He made that part of my career rewarding and fun. I have many, many, memories of him that will never fade. My sympathy to the family and friends. Take care brother, Bill Plunket

I proudly served with Bob at Washington Twp. I loved telling him "where to go" when I was a dispatcher and working side by side on medic and fire scenes. If there's an inch and 3/4 line in heaven, Bob, l know you'll be waiting to soak me with it when I get there! My deepest sympathy to his family. Until you are reunited, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. We will remember him fondly always .

I worked many years with Bob at Washington Township FD. He had a true passion to serve his communities, both in Centerville/Washington Township and his home of Kettering. His laugh was contagious; his determination to succeed inspiring. His compassion and service to the families of our fallen and injured firefighters and their families in 1998 was a true testament to his service. Rest well, brother.

I remember growing up with Bob, I remember he had a police scanner and when there was a fire call he would ride his bike to it, he lived his life long dream I'm glad he followed his heart. He will be missed on this earth. Taken to soon this news brings great saddness to my heart.
