L. Wasmund Obituary


News Death Notice

WASMUND, L. Scott 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, January, 16 at Hospice of the Comforter in Orlando following a long, brave battle against cancer. Born on November 15, 1940 in Evanston, IL to Lew and Ruth Wasmund; Scott is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Charlotte, four sons and daughters-in-law, Greg, Todd and Tracy, Kirk and Misi, Dale Carter, daughter and son-in-law, Laina and Joe French, mother, Ruth Wasmund, mother-in-law, Faye Hester, brothers and sisters-in-law, Barry and Pam, Brad and Cindy, Marcus and Elizabeth All, sister and brother-in-law, Salley and Trey Hamilton, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Scott and Charlotte moved to Orlando from Dayton in 1981. Scott served in the U.S. Navy for three years after graduating from Sidney High School. After the Navy, Scott graduated from Miami University, earned his CPA certification and worked in public and private accounting for over 40 years. He was a former member of the Maitland Rotary Club, a founding and active member of the Maitland Men's Club and Treasurer of the Howell Creek HOA. Scott's passion was spending time with his Bride Charlotte and his family. A celebration of Scott's life was held on Tuesday, January 18 at First United Methodist Church in Oviedo. The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Comforter and the many friends and medical community for their love, help and support. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be donated to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org, Maitland Men's Club's Christmas for Children campaign at P.O. Box 947711, Maitland, FL 32794-7711, or Hospice of the Comforter at www.HospiceoftheComforter.org.
