Papaw, it is an end of a special era in our family with your passing. Those sparkling eyes, filled with your good humor, that rascally laugh... You gave us each a special nickname (mine, Amiloochee). I remember how you'd make me pb&j and hot chocolate when I was little, and I just loved the attention, and having a special moment with you. I didn't have any friends who had a guitar playin' grandpa (that was too cool). Jake (one of your guitar-playin' grandkids) has your harmonica- had your harmonica. His baby, Maya plays it every day, your first great-great grandbaby, and she just loves it. I also like playing the guitar. See what you started? Had so many special moments with you when I was in KY to help you and Granny. Even through the pain, you would find it possible to crack me up with your squirty grin, still so youthful. I'll never forget helping you escape from the "dungeon", how that event gave us a brand new bond (you said you knew I had your back). Well, you had the back of the entire family, and deserved it. What would each of us have done without your various supportive gestures over the decades? You were our hero! If it seemed we put you on a pedestal, it was because you were a genuinely good guy, and an amazing role model. None of us could ever hope to achieve the incredible level of love and commitment achieved by you and Granny, but at least we got to witness something so amazing, in real life. Thanks for all you gave us. I'll see you again some day, on the "other side". Love you so much.

Uncle kenny was wonderful when Daddy was so sick. He called me every week and asked how Daddy was. He was also very concerned about me. He truely helped me through such a hard time. He gave me lots of love and support at the hardest time of my life. I'm so glad I was able to come and see you and Aunt Mildred in your later years. I will always love you and miss both of you. Dear Dad, now you are in heaven with Mom, your true soulmate, and Jesus, and that is the most comforting thought at this time. You were the best father that ever lived, and I am so proud and lucky that you were mine. You taught us all how to live a purposeful life, how to love, and finally how to die. You were valiant and our hero to the end. I love you. Kiss Mom for me.

Alice, I was so very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I can't imagine the pain of losing both parents in such a short period of time, but I'm sure you take comfort in knowing that they are together again in Heaven. Your parents were such a wonderful example of true family unity and love. What a beautiful legacy for all Kreitzer generations! Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers at this incredibly difficult time.
Love, Susie
