News Death Notice

MANN, Mattie Lee age 91, of Fairborn, was called home on July 16, 2012. She was born on December 18, 1920 in Philadelphia, MS, to the late William and Mattie Bell Stennis. In addition to her parents, Mattie was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Mann and her son, Larry Mann. Mattie is survived by her daughters, Jeanetta Mann and Sharon (Joe) Mastrianna; sister-in-law, Anita J. Mann, Bossier City, LA; five grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Asleen Brown, Jackson, MS, Inez Crutch, Memphis, TN, Ollie B. Williams, Tampa, FL, and Christine Earnest, Sacramento, CA; brothers, Byrant Stennis, and Johnnie (Delores) Stennis, both of Tampa, FL; two brother-in-laws, Curtis (Irene) Mann, Dayton, OH and Pervis (Peacola) Mann, Carthage, MS; and other family members and good friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ibrahim Ahmad and his staff at Davita Dialysis Center in Fairborn, OH, for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mattie's memory to the Kidney Foundation. A funeral service will take place on Monday July 23, 2012 at 11:00 am at Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1404 S. Gettysburg Ave, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior from 10:00-11:00 am. Mattie will be laid to rest on Tuesday July 24, 2012 at 10:00 am at Dayton National Cemetery.
