We tried to find Dick and Sandy so we could contact them while in Kettering next month, only to find dick's obituary instead. Please let Sandy know how shocked we were to learn of his death.

From Ted and Beverley Deisenroth, formerly of Bellbrook and friends of Dick and Sandy from our common honeymoons at the Farm On The Hill in 1962.

Sandy, your family is in our prayers. Dick was an important person in our life having counseled us in preparation of marriage and performing the ceremony for us in the Strongsville Metro Parks. His advice remains with us 32 happy years later. He didn't stop there but involved us as advisers to the senior high youth group and helped us to build a strong foundation for our Christian journey into faith and service. We are back again at the Strongsville United Methodist Church serving youth and the mission committee in our retirement years. We were truly blessed to have known him.

Your entire family remain in our prayers. While we are grateful for his attaining the prize of eternal life he offered to so many in his ministry we know it leaves a "dad/grandad" hole in your lives. We pray God gives you all comfort, strength and peace.

Saddened to hear that a fellow Kenmore alumni and friend has passed away. I am so grateful for our wonderful senior year together. He was smart, could play Poker, drove a Plymouth, and even ate a wooden (toothpick) BL & T He was my Senior Driver. We were stopped by the cops one Sunday afternoon. There were 8 seniors in my car and Rich was playing his sax with the window open. No ticket was issued but the cops called us a bunch of uncaged wild animals He would shift the gear (Packard) into neutral when I wasn't looking. Rich had a love for life that was unmeasurable. He will be missed. Sheldon Merritt

Saddened by your loss and mine. Rev. Rustad was a wonderful mentor to both my mother (Edna Wolfe and myself) He counseled my husband and I prior to our wedding at the Bronson Church in Peninsula, Ohio. He was a fine man and I thoroughly enjoyed his humor. Irene Webb Strongsville, Oh & Sarasota, Fl.

Sandy, Carrie, and Eric: I was so sad to learn about Dick's death. Not only did he take me in as I started ministry, but all of you did, as well. I appreciated his humor, seasoned guidance, and friendship at an important time of my life.

Dr. Rustad was a kind mentor and friend to me at Faith UMC. I learned a lot from him and still benefit today from many of the things he taught me. I have used his method of choosing people for committees ever since I left North Canton. It is practical, efficient, and people like it. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated the kindness of your family and the chance to get to know you. I wish that I could be there for the service, and share my condolences in person, but it is just not possible. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. Mike and Holly Grant
