Marlene J. Lemon

AGE: 72 • Wilmington

Age 72 of Wilmington passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Christiana Hospital.

Marlene was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Helen (Haney) and Clement J. Lemon. She was a 1959 graduate of St. Elizabeth High School and retired after more than 30 years as an inspector with the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles. Marlene worked until last year after over 20 years with the Salvation Army. She was a member of St. Matthew's Parish and the Red Hats.

Marlene will be missed by her sisters and their spouses, Joyce and Tony Zdrojewski of Wilmington and Karen and Gregory Pennell of Stevenson Ranch, CA; her brothers, Rev. Msgr. Clement P. Lemon and Bruce A. Lemon and his wife, Diane, all of Wilmington and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM at St. Matthews Church, 901 E. Newport Pike (Rt. 4), where friends are invited to visitation after 10 AM. Burial will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be sent to a charity of your choice. MealeyFuneralHomes.com (302) 652-5913
