Age 80, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2006, at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
He was born December 25, 1925, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Charles and Florence (Monge) Marsch. Mr. Marsch spent 33 years working for the US Postal Service, retiring in 1980 from Bala Cynwyd, PA as postmaster. He was a WWII Army veteran, who received the Purple Heart, as well as other medals. He was highly regarded for his advocacy work for manufactured housing owners and served as an advisor to the president of the Manufactured Housing Association. He was a member of the following organizations: National Association of Postmasters, Cape Henlopen Elks, AARP, Philadelphia chapter of the 63rd Infantry Division (Army), Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post #28, Veterans of Foreign Wars-Post #7447, the Rehoboth Bay Tenants Association, and a member of St. Edmond's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Anna M. (Goerg) Marsch, of Rehoboth Beach; 3 sons, Charles Marsch, and his wife, Barbara, of Green Lane, PA, Leonard Marsch, and his wife, Debbie, of Lewes, and Richard Marsch, and his wife, Stephanie, of Lewes; seven grandchildren, Chatham, Jason, Jonathan, Ricky, Jessica, Nicholas and Jacob; and 1 sister, Elizabeth Shank, of Newtown Square, PA.
Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, February 8, at PARSELL FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORIUM, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, February 9, at St. Edmond's Catholic Church, King Charles & Laurel Streets, Rehoboth Beach, with Father James Downs officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Pilottown Road, Lewes.
