AGE: 83 • Georgetown

Don Anthony, age 83, of Georgetown, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2014 in the presence of his son and daughter at Johns Hopkins University Hospital.

Don was born in Reading, PA in 1931. He moved to New Castle, DE when he was 4 years old, where he grew up and graduated from William Penn High School in 1949. Outside of his participation with various clubs, his other interests were flying, playing golf, and traveling. A horse owner, his recent interests included harness racing at local tracks. Don loved to have fun and was a Tennessee Squire. He is remembered fondly for his laugh, smile, and wit. Don was always fun. I went to school with him for 12 years at
Wm Penn. I guess he was my first love, in 2nd grade he sent me a note "I like you" and I was thrilled and wrote back "I like you too". Whenever we met (seldom) we always laughed bout that. He was a great human being .

Met Don while at William Penn, though he was ahead of me. Then we rode horses with Nur and tall cedars. He picked me up in Charleston, WVA and flew me to New castle with John Owens another friend. Don was a great friend and pilot. Fly on my friend to that great airport in the sky.
