Louis Daugherty Obituary

Louis T. Daugherty

Age 94, of Bear, DE passed away on Friday, December 16, 2011.

Louis worked as a heavy machine mechanic for Timko Brothers for many years retiring at the age of 80. After his retirement he enjoyed working around his house and gardening. Throughout his life Louis always demonstrated a strong belief in the Lord.

Mr. Daugherty is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary E. Daugherty; 5 sons: Louis T. Daugherty, Jr. and his wife Alice, Jan R. Daugherty and wife Barbara, Christopher A. Daugherty, Charles E. Daugherty and Stanley J. Daugherty; 6 grandchildren, Hank and wife Angie, Katie and husband Matt, Christopher, Dylan, Kylea and Robert; 1 great-granddaughter, Ava. Mr. Daugherty was the youngest of 13 siblings and is preceded in death by 12 older brothers and sisters, and also by his granddaughter, Georgi.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, Dec. 21, in the Strano & Feeley Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark DE 19702 from 2-3 pm followed by a service in celebration of Louis's Life at 3 pm. Burial will be private.
