Frank Hubert Obituary

Frank Hubert, Sr.

AGE: 80 • North Wilmington

Frank Hubert, Sr. passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2014 surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born in Chester, PA and raised in Claymont, DE. He graduated from Claymont High School, Class of 1952. Frank was in the U.S. Army for 2½ yrs and was a member of the Sharp Shooters Team. They traveled all over Germany in competitions. After the service he worked for DE Mutual Insurance Co. and later became a District Manager for the News Journal. He retired in 1999.

Frank was a loyal and devoted husband, father, pop pop and friend to many. He always entertained us with all the many adventures of his life. He was one of the best storytellers. In his spare time he enjoyed growing his plants & flowers. Frank was also an avid Philly sports fan and never gave up on his teams, even in the worst of seasons. His life long favorite sport was fishing which he shared his passion for with his "fishing buddy" son, Frank Jr. He loved boating and being out on the water. His most cherished times were those spent with Connie, his wife of 55 years. They enjoyed going to the movies, their walks at Bellvue Park, their daily "line up" of evening shows and all the special dinners they had out. When asked about his secret for long happy marriage. He said "they never went to bed angry and always gave each other three kisses and said "I love you".

Frank taught his family the true meaning of the word "Family" and was an extremely thoughtful person. His favorite saying was "Don't sweat the small stuff" which he would always tell his children and grandchildren during difficult times in their life.

Frank was the son of the late, Peter and Julia (Burczyk) Hubert. He is survived by the "love of his life," his wife, Corinne Hubert (Bruno); his three children, Pamela Episcopo (fiance' - Steven Gibbins), Patricia Szabo (husband - Robert Szabo, Sr.), Frank Hubert, Jr (wife - Hayat Omar Hubert) and six grandchildren, Brandon Episcopo, Christina Szabo, Brittany Szabo, Robert Szabo, Jr., Hana Hubert and Adam Hubert. He will be dearly missed, never forgotten and always close in our hearts.

The family would like to thank all the family and friends that helped support us during this time. We would also like to thank the wonderful nurses and workers from Delaware Hospice.

Services will be held at a future date, that will be posted in the News Journal.
