John Watts

AGE: 65 • Marydel, DE

John Watts, of Marydel, De died at his home on Monday, November 17, 2014. He was 65. John was born January 13, 1949, the son of the late Bayard and Blanche Watts. He served his country in the US Coast Guard and was a Viet Nam veteran. John worked several years at Playtex, fifteen years for the state of Delaware, and ten years doing over the road trucking before retiring. He was a member of Marydel VFD, station #56, and the Marydel Lions Club. John was a trainer for seeing eye dogs for the blind. In his spare time he enjoyed building or tinkering on things.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a half brother Glenn Culver. He is survived by two sons John Watts Jr of Wilmington and Brian Watts and his wife Patricia of The United Kingdom; a daughter Jenn Buckley and her husband Brenden of Oxford, PA; four grandchildren Tobias Rogers, Grace Watts, Chase and Brooklyn Buckley, and sister Debbie Thompson of Millsboro.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at 10:30 am at the Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 W. Market St, Greenwood, DE 19950; friends may call from 10 to 10:30 am. Interment with military honors will be held at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE. Donations may be made in John's memory to the Wounded Soldier Project, PO Box 75817, Topeka, KS 66675.
