John Schrader Obituary

John P. Schrader of Yeadon, PA formerly of Darby, PA was called to his heavenly home on September 19, 2013 after a hard fought, year-long battle with esophageal cancer. He was the cherished son of the late John T. and Sara Schrader.
He attended Blessed Virgin Mary Elementary School and Monsignor Bonner High School. Later in life after earning a degree from Hahnemann University, John spent the most fulfilling years of his working career as a cancer research associate at Janssen Pharmaceutical Co.
John's greatest joy was spending time with his loved ones and traveling with them; to Lancaster, Seaside Heights and anywhere family and friends gathered. He was an ardent Phillies fan. He loved music from Leon Redbone to Adele. John could take a blade to a block of wood and transform a raw stick of Irish blackthorn into a unique, one of a kind walking stick.
A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful family members, friends and neighbors who helped to make the rough road travelled this year a little smoother.
Survivors: Beloved husband and best friend of Mary (nee Julien) and world's greatest Dad to Brendan (Elana, his daughter by love); dear brother of Kevin (Barbara); brother by love of Joe, Kathy, Rose, Ken and loving uncle of Stephen, Chris, Joe, Chris, Kenny and Donna.
