Esther Howes Obituary

1918 - 2015 Esther G. Howes Esther went home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2015. She was born August 20, 1918 in Media, PA to Harry F. and Grace G. Howes. Her sister was Harriet (Howes) Ferris Nelson. She received her Master's in Nursing from Yale University in 1943 and a M.S. in Education from University of Penn in 1946. She worked in public health nursing supervision and education with the Visiting Nurse Society of Philadelphia and Philadelphia General Hospital. In 1964 she moved to Cape Cod, MA to work as the Barnstable County Health Officer. She retired in 1983 to enjoy her piano playing, singing in the church choir and traveling with her sister. She moved to Florida to be with her sister and her husband, only to return to Media residing at White Horse Village, Gradyville in 2000. She is survived by two nieces, one nephew, five grand nieces, three grand nephews, six great grand nieces, one great grand nephew and one great, great grand niece. A private service will be for family. Donations can be made to: White Horse Village Endowment Fund, 535 Gradyville Road, Newtown Square, PA 19073.
