Constance Lamond Obituary

Constance Lamond, 70 of Norwood passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 29, 2017. She was raised in Sharon Hill and attended Archbishop Prendergast High School. She continued to live in Sharon Hill where she raised her family before moving to Norwood in 2003. Connie worked for many businesses over the years including Slim Jim, State Farm, M. Paul Payne Oil Company, Belmont Doors, Russell J. Meyers Roofing Company as well as a lunch lady at Academy Park while her girls were in school. She would eventually work as the office clerk at Sharon Hill Borough Hall for 15 years before retiring. Connie spent her childhood playing sports like basketball for CYO while summers were spent at Sharon Hill Swim Club where she was a member of the Swim team. As an adult Connie enjoyed bowling with her girlfriends at the old Sharon Hill Lanes where many laughs were had. She was avid Philadelphia Sports Fan, it didn’t matter the team or if they were not having a great season she still supported the Eagles, Flyers, Sixers and Phillies. As Connie’s girls got older she volunteered her time to every organization they were involved with, Sharon Hill Home and School, Ramblers, Sharon Hill AA, Sharon Hill Swim Team, Lady Knights, and District Musical-TOPS. Connie also volunteered her time to the Sharon Hill 4th of July committee and was a Life time member of the Sharon Hill Fire Company’s Ladies Auxiliary. Her main love was that of family and friends. She hosted many parties at “819” whether it be for a family celebration or just the place for her Girl’s friends to hangout she welcomed all. She found great joy spending time with her grandchildren playing games, spoiling them with treats or just being in their presence was good enough for her. She is preceded by her husband of 47 years, Wayne T. Lamond and her parents William and Edith (Jarrett) Meyers. Her siblings Maryann Kissane (Meyers), Robert Meyers. Her brother in-law Bill Kissane and sister in-law Fran Meyers (Magann) She is survived by her daughters Kim Lamond-Burkhart (Mark), Tracy Mormando (Sam), Amy Hartfuss (RJ). Her grandchildren Vincent and Nicholas Mormando, Rocco and Addison Hartfuss and Kimberly Burkhart as well as her step grandchildren, Lindsay, Mark and Dan Burkhart. Her siblings Edith Orr (Ed), William Meyers, Russell Meyers (Cecelia) and close family friend Robert May as well as many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday evening from 6-9pm at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home 301 Chester Pike Norwood and Friday from 9:15 -10:15am, followed by her funeral mass at 11:00am in the Church of Saint Gabriel 233 Mohawk Ave. Norwood. Burial: SS Peter and Paul Cemetery. Dear Kim, Tracy, and Amy, I'm in shock hearing about your mom. Was aware of your dad passing, but was unable to get to funeral. Awfully tough losing a parent, especially mom. Your parents were good people, and fun to be around. God Bless you and your families while dealing with your losses. I'm sure Wayne and Connie are watching over you from above.

Dear Kim, Tracy, and Amy. Joe just told me about your mom. I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure it is especially hard after just losing your dad. I hope you take comfort that they are happy together again - looking down and smiling on their wonderful girls and their families. I'll always remember how she scared me one Halloween. Came to the door never spoke a word. I was so scared I closed the door on her. Found out about 3 weeks later it was her. Apparently your mom and dad had been laughing that long about how badly she scared me. Lots of good memories from our good neighbors. Ann and Phil Philiposian
