Not sure what to say?

March 29, 2014

I have recently learned of Brian's passing. While I did not know him well, I knew him at SSU. I talked to him a lot and always enjoyed his presence. Over the years he would come into my thoughts and I wondered how he was.... I kept some contact with him via email in the late 90's and again he would enter my thoughts. My deepest sympathies to his family. I am saddened by his passing, yet encouraged by reading the accomplishments of his life. Hope you are healing I have grieved in learning of his passing. God bless.

I am sorry for your loss. I did not know Brian well. He was such a great friend and comfort to my sister Megan when she was battling her cancer. He was always there for her and my family will be forever grateful to him for that. They had a special bond. From what I can tell from all the stories he made everyone feel special just like my sister did. The two of them are up I Heavan now laughing and having fun look down on us. He will always be in our harts. He is gone but never forgotten.

Admired his spirit and sense of humor....when he was running for student council at SDHS, he made posters that read something like, "Vote for Brian and You'll Get a New Car!!" It had a large pic of a red corvette and in really small lettering it said, "(just kidding)." My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

I knew Brian at SDHS and in the Philosophy Dept at Salisbury Univ.
Brian was a lot of fun, spinning around the halls, not letting anything slow him down. He was an inspiration to a lot of us, even though we may not have realized it at the time. Brian always had a smile on his face, was a great story teller, humorous and a sharp cookie! Deepest sympathy to the Sterner family.

Dear Sterner Family,

I'm so sorry for your loss. As unique an individual as any I've encountered, Brian's laugh was infectious and his spirit filled whatever space he happened to be in. Brian was a big part of an incredible era for those of us associated with the 52nd Street Exxon in O.C.
I'm thankful to have known Brian and that our paths crossed.

Sterner family,
My deepet sympathy to your family. I have been blessed to work with thousands of incredible students in my 27 year residence life career and Brian left a special mark on my heart I cherish. I often tell stories to new staff about the Brian, Tim, B. Ross, Diane, Kassey and Jen Casey years. They end with a good laugh and a simple message to live your life in the moment by enjoying those God places in your life. Brian always did.
